Our Cause - Disadvantaged Youth

The Paul Lawrence Vann Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) tax exempt public charity and is on the forefront of working with disadvantaged youth because they deserve the chance to earn a high school diploma and or prepare for the general education development (GED) test.

Our demographic is youth between the ages of 16-24, we enroll youth with a diploma but academically deficient, a high school dropout, a youth offender, a youth in foster (youth aging out of foster care), a youth with an incarcerated parent, a youth with a disability, and migrant youth.

The Paul Lawrence Vann Foundation was founded as a result of a defining moment after a speech in a middle school in PrinceGeorge's County, Maryland. After delivering a "Career Day" speech a teacher stated, "More and more of our students are homeless because of the increased mortgage foreclosures."

This was a watershed moment for Paul Lawrence Vann. He has worked in support of youth his entire life, whether establishing a Junior Achievement program at O'Fallon High School, Illinois or working with members of Congress to secure scholarships for students to attend the college of their choice, Paul has always worked to help youth achieve success.

The Paul Lawrence Vann Foundation will be able to achieve a lot working with under-served youth, however they won't be able to do it alone. The Vann Foundation, Board of Directors, staff, volunteers and collaborative partners need your help.We respectfully request you provide a end of year tax deductible donation, please go to the "Chipin" donation option at the fair top right of this page and make your important donation.

The Vann Foundation knows it takes team work to make the dream work. To learn more about our mission, visit: http://www.vannfoundation.org/ or call us at (240) 416-5077.
