Youth Represent Our Leaders of Tomorrow

Now more than ever, our youth deserve an opportunity to achieve success. The Paul Lawrence Vann Foundation is standing in the gap to help disadvantaged youth achieve their own success.

The subprime mortgage crisis is sending families spiraling out of control and there seems to be no end in sight for homeowners and their children.

The Paul Lawrence Vann Foundation (http://www.vannfoundation.org/) mission is to oversee the provision of education, job training, leadership development and entrepreneurship for disadvantaged youth between the ages of 16-24. Why?

I'm glad you asked because the Vann Foundation is passionate about working with under-served youth, we can mutually agree its hard to make it in today's society. Besides we all need a helping hand in life and our goal is to position disadvantaged youth to become self-sufficient in life.

Our demographic reads as follows:

  1. Youth with a diploma, but academically deficient
  2. A high school dropout
  3. Youth offenders
  4. Youth with incarcerated parents
  5. A disabled youth
  6. Youth in foster care (aging out of foster care)
  7. A migrant youth

The Vann Foundation will deliver and oversee the educational enhancement of participating youth to position them to become academically proficient and or prepare them to take the general education development (GED) test.

That's not all, with the support of collaborative partners the Vann Foundation will train youth construction skill trades, to renovate and build affordable housing for homeless individuals and low-income families in their communities.

Given the vast leadership knowledge of the Vann Board of Directors, students will participate in community activites with their peers to learn civic engagement, up close and personal.

The end result is, participating youth will be prepared to earn their high school diploma, thus increasing the graduation rates in Maryland, learn a high demand skill such as construction, develop their leadership skills and or learn how to become entrepreneurs.

We will all win as long as we all understand, disadvantaged youth have incredible talent, you simply have to give them a chance to prove it to themselves, each other and to adults in their community. Join the Vann Foundation on our mission is to affect positive change in the 21st Century.
